Vegan MoFo 2013: Day One!

 photo 400x84_g2_zps55f5f8fb.jpg

For my first post of MoFo 2013, here are two exciting new vegan yummies!

Almond Breeze Caramel Macchiato. It's awesome. I tried the Silk Latte in Vanilla first but it wasn't nearly as yummy. This is pretty great though. I usually just stick leftover coffee in the fridge and add creamer (I only like the Silk) or milk (8th continent, as you can see in the pic), so I won't buy this a lot, but I had to give it a try.

TCBY's Silk Chocolate Almond Soft Serve/FroYo/whatever.

One of the things I miss the most as a vegan is a soft serve chocolate cone with rainbow sprinkles. Well, the sprinkles aren't vegan (man, I want sprinkles. I love sprinkles. I've tried sprinkelz but they just aren't the same) but the froyo is and it is yummy. It's only 110 calories a serving, but that's at a normal full-serve TCBY - mine is self-serve. Just pecans and mixed nuts on top for me - sometimes some raspberries or coconut - some of the vegans have been adding oreos, but in the world of me + gluten foods, oreos hate me more than most gluten-y things.

I also bought a few of those Go Picnic kits because they were on sale at Target, but even on sale they're $3 each - I'll update as soon as we try them.

I saw that Almond Breeze Caramel Macchiato at the grocery store the other day! I picked it up, thought about buying it, checked the price, then put it back. I'm glad to know it was good, might be worth the $4!

As a note of learned caution, I'm the only one in the house drinking it, and I can't drink more than a cup a day, and I ended up dumping the last little bit. So better if you can share it!

ooh I've been curious about the silk fro-yo. There's no TCBY nearby but when I find one I'll definitely give it a try. All those toppings sound yummy!
