Sometime in the last 5 years or so I bought Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for Life." In it she writes about the importance of greens and green smoothies and at the end she includes recipes for 17 sweet smoothies and 6 savory smoothies. You'll have to forgive me - I don't remember the details of the book (I may give it a reread sometime soon) but I can tell you that it's worth a read.
Lately the quality of my diet has plunged and I've experienced a dramatic increase in migraines. These two things may or may not be related, but in any case, I want to feel better so I am going to eat better.
MY PLAN. A green smoothie a day - for breakfast - until the end of the month (and MOFO). I'll be having them for breakfast because I find they are the most satisfying thing I can drink in the morning - if I have one around 7:45am I'm not hungry again until 11:15am or so. I am what I call a "morning hungry" person so that's pretty good. I will make smoothies I've never tried before and I will like them, darnit.
