A Gluten for Punishment

So after months gluten free, I made the amazing Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies from VCIYCJ. I made them for the husband, but he forgot to take them to work, and I am powerless against almond extract. Alas. So after 4-5 days of gluten, I am now back to gluten free.

These are the little devils that led me astray.

I used 1/2 the called for chocolate chips (I use Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks) and the other 1/2 I subbed with Food Lion butterscotch chips. I also added a tiny bit too much salt (sea salt). The result was amazing. So good. Make them. Or don't.

And for gluten I made but didn't eat we have a lazy meal - I wrapped a gardein patty in phyllo.

If you need almond extract again (I'm pretty powerless against it too), I have a decent gf version of the choc-choc chip from vcon. Hope you're not feeling too bad from the evil gluten!

Those cookies look so good and I am the same like you, powerless against almond extract :)

Dawn - Well I can't really eat oats either, so it's an all or nothing thing I guess :)

Carissa - I know! It's magic. I should stick to putting it in smoothies . . .
