This is why I don't go to Harris Teeter

So normally I only get Gardein at Harris Teeter (the kid looooooves the tenders and I did too until I went gluten free - sad!) and sometimes one kind of produce that I can't get anywhere else. Well today I decided to look around a bit more and this is what I found:

That's leeks, kale, blueberries (they were BOGO but $6.99 each! So $3.50 each which isn't bad but GEEZ), lots of tiny potatoes (pee-wee potatoes and some fingerlings and some red and blue!), shallots, green onions, apples, dates, tempeh, sabra hummus, So-Yah! (see earlier post) and dried black beans (the commissary only sells black beans with ham packets - blech).

Gardein ($5.35/ea), millet, mirin, juice boxes for the kiddo, red quinoa (I can't find this anywhere else - $5.99!), kiddo haircare stuff ($8.55 each!! but I don't like putting yucky chemicals on her), brown rice spaghetti ($4.29) and tofurky.

$98!!!! NINETY EIGHT! Oy.

I miss my NH and ME stores.

Gosh, that's a lot of money for such a small amount of stuff.

It's hard to save money on groceries right now because the dollar just doesn't buy what it used to.

I've been shopping in a store where you bag your own groceries to save money and in the last month, a huge jar of peanut butter that was $5.98 is now $6.92.

Better Than Bouillon broth paste used to be $2.98 a jar. The other day? $4.02.

It's been since Jan. 11th that all this stuff has gone up. It feels like any day we are going to see $9 loaves of bread.

yum! I love seeing other peoples groceries too :) $98 isn't bad. I seem to not be able to buy less than $100 worth either.
