Fayetteville Restaurant Reviews, Part 1

The Bombay Bistro
5945 Cliffdale Road
Fayetteville, NC

By far my favorite place to eat around here. They have a menu but I always just eat off the buffet. They always have white rice, flavored rice, pita bread, and some sauces (some vegan, some not). There are usually veggie pakoras and then there are 3 veggie options (which have always been vegan on my visits, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about what I can eat). Then there are 3 chicken options (I think the other 3 are always chicken - I don't ever look that close;)

The Fresh Cafe
212 Hay Street
Fayetteville, NC

Kiddo and I went here after going to the kid's museum one day. I had mediocre/high hopes going in and it definitely looked cute. There was a nice waitress and the lady behind the counter was nice too. The selection didn't wow me, but kiddo saw watermelon and insisted we stay and then she headed upstairs to sit.

There were only 2 or 3 vegan or practically vegan options. I ordered a sandwich that came with artichoke spread so they substituted hummus instead. It was a cold pita, hummus, cucumber, roasted red pepper (it seemed jarred, I'm not sure if it was or not) and that was it. Here's the kiddo trying a bite:

The best part of the meal was the side potato salad - yums!

My meal, the kid's watermelon and two strawberry lemonades cost us about $16 without tip. I don't see us going back.

It's never fun to be disappointed by an outing, especially when you drop that kind of cash [it's a lot to us!]

Happy MoFo'ing!
