Today is Sunday, which has come to mean Monkey Joe's day in the last few months. Monkey Joe's (which we call MJ's) is an indoor playground comprised entirely of bounce houses and bounce slides and what not (and if I find my phone's memory card adapter, I'll post a pic).

After MJ's we went to the Reilly Road Farmer's market to stock up on produce and as usual, I may have gone overboard.

Tiny lettuces they called "artisan lettuce", onions, peaches (one got smashed and they aren't ripe yet!), green peppers (2 for $1.50 so I went BIG:), summer squash, cucumbers and mangoes.

Gala apples, corn (I don't usually get the precleaned, but the other ones had some worms), eggplants and bananas (4lbs for $1.00).

Why yes, we WERE starving. How could you tell?

Planning on making sofrito from Viva Vegan and some dishes with red beans (I'm out of black beans - sad!). Also on tap for today something with eggplant - not sure what yet.

Hey, I never realized you have a blog!
There's nothing wrong with going overboard as long as it's with produce, you know. :-)

That's some nice looking produce! We have to wait a few more months before the farmers market comes back our way. I miss going.

Hey there! I haven't been to that farmer's market yet, but there is a farm out on my end of town that sells produce and what not, I forget what it's called, but if you go up Ramsey Street, and keep going North past 295, go a few miles and turn left at the Marathon Gas station and follow the signs. I plan on going this weekend and getting some stuff. I stopped by the other day and they basically have farmers and other vendors that come and sell there on the weekends, so they didn't have very much when I went. They also do hay rides and have animals and all kinds of fun stuff...I'll dig my paper out and get back to you with the name if you are interested!

Thanks! I'll give it a try! :) The name would be great if you have it, but if not, I'll try to find it anyway :)
