Dehdrator? Check! VitaMix/BlendTec? No Check :(

Okay. So now that I have the dehydrator out of the way (Fed Ex says it'll be here tomorrow!!) it's time to focus my attention on a high speed, beautiful blender. The problem? They're $400+. Bummer. But the VitaMix has a seven year warranty that says: "Vita-Mix covers your ENTIRE machine for 7 years." Oooh. So after this post, I'm going to check on the BlendTec warranty. If you have a VM or a BT, I'd like to hear a summary of your feelings about it and if you've had to use the warranty, how did that go?

Oh well. My Tofurkey Roast is almost done and I'm starving. I've been a good girl today and I had another huge smoothie - 4 cups spinach, hemp protein powder, 2 bananas and blackberries. Yum!

I dream of owning a BlendTec. I may just get one this year with my tax return and i will be over the moon! Robyn of "Green Smoothie Girl" convinced me in her side by side review, but they both seem great! check out her review here:

I love the Blendtec 'will it blend?' videos. A blender that can blend glass bottles?! Awesome!
I would have got one myself if they looked nicer.
I always hum the 'will it blend' theme tune when I blend (in my feeble, but lovely looking, Dualit).
I'm sorry my comment was of absolutely no help to your decision making!!

conserve - i have spent a lot of time looking @ greensmoothiegirl's blog and i know i will do it some more :) there's something about the counting revolutions (how many does it take to make a smoothie?) and the 1 year warranty on the container.

of course, vitamix has that whole thing about needing separate wet/dry containers.

$400+ blenders should come w/ everything and be heavily warrantied!

I,too, would love a high powered blender but I can get the same results by running the grains, nuts, etc through a 10 dollar coffee grinder prior to blending. Sure...a bit more time consuming but WAY less expensive. I still want one though.

What dehydrator did you finally dedcide on...Good4U?

Good4U! From Evolution Health. $95!

Yea, I decided I'm getting a VitaMix (perhaps refurbished) with my Tax Refund. I give, I want un-clumpy smoothies!
