Hurray! True to his word, Will came home with the cupcake book. He later declared it "the best $17 I've ever spent!" (It's only $11 or so at Amazon if you have patience and want to order it w/ something else to qualify for free shipping. He and I don't have patience.)
The first cupcakes I made were simple yellow cuppers with chocolate buttercream frosting (officially the best frosting I've ever had in my whole life!). There are sprinkles on one cupper in the pic because they seemed to be not vegan (so that was Will's).
Next! Mint cupcakes. I had Will help, and he frosted them all by himself. He was very proud :) The frosting was a bit runny, but it turns out I could have kept adding confectioner's sugar until it got to be the right consistency. It's all good though, because it turns out they're awesome cold.
And from last week or so - VwaV's White Bean and Garlic Soup. This soup calls for two HEADS (that's heads, not cloves) of garlic - I used one and it was still too garlicky, and I've always considered myself quite the garlic fan. Ah well.
Side note: As of today, I am 39 weeks pregnant - wow.
